In his project Food for Thought, photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen reveals a complex, global food system in which the Netherlands plays a key role. The scale and efficiency of our high-tech food industry command as much respect as they raise questions: what is the impact on the planet? How sustainable is it? Indeed, food for thought!
Sports & Culture is screening two 8-minute videos, each with subtitles in Dutch and English, in the small art gallery. At Studium Generale on Thursday 24th, there will be a screening of excerpts from the documentary Food for Thought followed by a discussion with Kadir and others.

Kadir van Lohuizen is a photographer, documentary filmmaker and co-founder of the international photography collective NOOR. For decades, he has been using his camera to explore pressing global issues, such as climate change, migration, food security and humanity’s impact on our planet. His award-winning work portrays complex themes in a poignant and accessible way and is exhibited and published worldwide.
