Steppin’ Into Tomorrow is back for a new season of panels, muziekkringen and ofcourse club nights at Doka! The space ship will shift right into hyperdrive when this tour-de-force of uncut, full blown, heated disco and boogie gems kicks off.
First up, it’s Rotterdam’s most heartfelt lover of everything funky: Ays. Whether she’s opening Lowlands’ Hacienda or closing her own party Love Transmission, this selector, digger and skilled turntable-master knows how to charm and conquer hearts of dancers at any time or slot. For the lovers of the sweet, subtle and immediately-hitting grooves.
Our special guest of the night will be the father of three(!) record labels, who’s released so many hot broken beat, bossa-inspired, and warmblooded house records – either as himself, under the Isoul8 moniker or by other talented artists in the scene – that we’ve lost count now. We’re blessed to hear him weave a tapestry of broad-ranged selections, all in between disco, funk, soulful house and many percussional surprises. Please welcome all the way from Italy: Volcov.
Space disco smashers, proto-house gems and oddball grooves are key ingredients in the slowly-cooked but well-seasoned sets of Utrecht-based dj Vasco. Having played for Intergalactic FM, Wildeburg, and having shared bills with Hunee, DJ Kennedy and Ajuma – a few other Doka regulars and favorites – he’s become the man to throw a mesmerizing and well-selected mix of groovy heat right at you.
