During this short workshop I want the participants to investigate how they can use different resources such as objects, text, sound and their surroundings to gather performative material. We will do simple and playful exercises to connect and experiment together.
You are invited to bring an object to this workshop (poem, instrument, costume, book, plant, etc.)
Duration of the workshop: 1,5 hour
Biography
Nina Wijnmaalen (Groningen, 1980) studied Art and Theatre and directs performances that are somewhere between theater, dance and performance and uses movement, poetry and music. She has developed her working method by participating in workshops of international performers and institutions including Ivo Dimchev (Tanz im August, Berlin 2010) and Trajal Harrell (Impulstanz, Vienna 2013), PAS (Performance Art Studies, Rotterdam 2012) and SNDO (School for New Dance Development, 2013). Nina showed work at DansBrabant, Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, Dansmakers, Galeria Vermelho in Brazi, Stalker Teatro Turin Italy and Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival.
WORKSHOP II: Mylan Hoezen : ‘Plates’
In this workshop, we will create movement scores inspired by images from our dreams. By retelling these stories through five distinct body postures, we will explore balance and focus while standing on a variety of plates. These postures, supported by the plates, will challenge our equilibrium and invite us to access movements we don’t typically engage with. The core of the workshop is to cultivate balance and concentration, serving as preparation for long durational performances.
Duration of the workshop: 1,5 hour
