The Bird Experience:
The Bird Experience is raw desire set to rhythm, sweat slick on skin, the sting of whiskey on a split lip. Born from the mind of composer, singer, and harmonicist Mees Vullings (the Bird), it’s a mix of blues soaked in swamp water and psychedelia hallucinating under circus lights with the reckless spirit of jazz always riding shotgun.

After the Bird finished writing what would become the band’s debut album, the lineup crystalized in 2025 as if summoned: organist Pedro Croes, guitarist Redmer Kamsma, bassist Dylan van de Grift, drummer Lars Douma, and percussionist Ishmerai Gill all found their way into the circle. Within just four months of refining the songs together and sprinkling every individual’s mojo on top, the newly formed The Bird Experience stepped into the legendary Wisseloord Studios to record a live session, meant simply as a teaser of what they were brewing. Two months later they self produced their debut album with guitarist Redmer behind the desk. For the album recordings the band was expanded to a twelve-piece formation, including a horn section and background singers. Shortly after releasing the live videos, the band was snapped up by Radar Agency and secured a record deal with Suburban Records, all before performing a single show. A bold first chapter that speaks volumes about the band’s drive, and if anything, hints at an exceptionally bright future.

Their upcoming self-titled debut album struts with a sexy, untamed swagger and delivers a wide range, from carnivalistic back-alley blues to maniacal anti-capitalist slow burns to catchy, foot-tappin’ funk, while maintaining an overarching, distinctive sound. The harmonica isn’t a nostalgic throwback here. It’s a centerpiece, sometimes wielded like a weapon, other times like a lover’s voice. Classy as a crushed velvet glove, dirty as the floor it lands on.

Een jonge band met een opvallend volwassen geluid. Haar muziek beweegt moeiteloos tussen hardrock of psychedelic rock, naar ballads en popnummers; zonder ooit hun eigen identiteit te verliezen.
De bandleden, tussen de 17 en 19 jaar oud, weten met hun spel en flamboyante uitstraling het publiek te verrassen.
Jesse Mook zijn vurige drumwerk is innovatief. Brendan Aafjes vult aan met een grommende melodieuze bas. Zij vormen een sterke basis voor Flint Jongen zijn rauwe zielvolle gitaarwerk en Noël zijn markante kristallen stem.
Hun muzikaliteit en samenspel zijn uitzonderlijk sterk, iets wat ook door ervaren muzikanten en lokale artiesten wordt herkend. Of ze nu in een club, op een festival of in een intieme setting spelen: GLITZ maakt indruk met hun natuurlijke flair, muzikale veelzijdigheid en aanstekelijke energie.
