Last updated: 16 September 2026 - draft
This privacy policy applies to the website uitgaanskrant.com and the Uitgaanskrant.com app (Android/iOS). Uitgaanskrant.com, located at Breedstraat 146, 1601 KG Enkhuizen ("we"), is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy.

1. What data we collect, and why
a) Account
To create a business, event or city activity you need an account. For this we store your email address and password (stored encrypted). These are the only data linked to your account, until you request deletion.
b) Favourites
If you mark hospitality venues as favourites, we store that with your account so you can see them on all your devices.
c) Province/municipality selection
You can choose a province, municipality or place yourself in order to see relevant content. This is your own choice from a list — the app does not request or use GPS location from your device.
d) Content you post yourself
If you create an event, city activity or business information, we store the text, date and (where applicable) photos you submit for that purpose. The app requests access to the camera and photos/storage solely so these photos can be selected or taken. Photos you select but do not use in a submission within a few hours are automatically deleted from our server again.
e) Technical and usage data
- Server logs: with every request to our servers (website and app) we log the IP address, time and requested page/endpoint. For visitor statistics we store IP addresses truncated (e.g. 135.12.x.x) and indefinitely; for system administration/security (e.g. detecting attacks/abuse) we store the full IP address for a maximum of 1 year.
- Crash reporting: the app uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to report technical errors (crashes). Error data, app version and general device information (brand, model, operating system) are shared with Google. This helps us make the app more stable.
- Performance measurements: the app uses Firebase Performance Monitoring to measure load times and technical performance, also via Google.
f) Advertisements
The app displays advertisements via Google AdMob. An advertising identifier (advertising ID) from your device may be used for this. On first use of the app in the EEA, the app asks, via Google's consent mechanism (Google-certified Consent Management Platform/UMP), whether you allow personalised advertisements. If you refuse this, you will still see advertisements, but less tailored to your interests. Google may use these data in accordance with its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
g) Cookies (website)
When visiting uitgaanskrant.com, functional cookies are placed that are necessary for the website to work. The app itself does not use tracking cookies in a browser, but does use a technical session (comparable to a cookie) to keep you logged in.

2. Legal basis
We process your data in order to provide the service (performance of the contract: account, favourites, your own content), on the basis of a legitimate interest (security, combating abuse, technical stability via crash/performance reporting), and on the basis of your consent for personalised advertisements.

3. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell personal or business data. For the functionality below we work with:
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Performance Monitoring, Google AdMob) — data may be processed outside the EEA (US); Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or uses EU standard contractual clauses to do this lawfully.
We do not pass data on to third parties other than those mentioned above, or when we are legally obliged to do so.

4. Retention periods
- Account data and favourites: for as long as your account exists, until your request for deletion.
- Content posted by you (events, business info): remains visible until you or we delete it.
- Full IP logs (system administration/security): maximum 1 year.
- Truncated/anonymous visitor statistics: indefinitely (not traceable to a person).
- Crash reports: retained in accordance with Firebase Crashlytics' standard retention policy.

5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of and objection to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You can delete your account and associated data:
- in the app itself (Favourites → account → "Delete account"), or
- request it online via: uitgaanskrant.com/nl/account-verwijderen
For other requests: [fill in email address]. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

6. Children
Uitgaanskrant.com is not specifically aimed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss or unlawful use.

8. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top indicates when it was last changed.
