Bed and Breakfast Jordaan

Yes, you have reached our own genuine website. Only here you can make a reservation for anynight in the future. Just check OUR OWN availability calendar (here) (at booking.com weonly sometimes offer 'last-minute-rooms').

A lot can be said about our comfortable Bed and Breakfast Jordaan in the centre of Amsterdam. Yes, we received 7 awards since 2007 but we figure that an endless website would be as bothering as a talkative host.

Neighbourhood & House

The Jordaan is a dense patch of small-scale streets and canals peppered with interesting shops, galleries, charming 'hofjes' and inviting brown cafes. Quirky and characterful, with an intimate, easy-going atmosphere of it's own. It was built for workers at the same time when the 'Grachtengordel' (Canal-rings) were completed. Our house was originally built by a master carpenter and his family and later rebuilt by a printersfamily. The story is told by the old, picturesque craftsmanship tile in our gable. It is a historic part of the Jordaan since 1661. When Bed and Breakfast Jordaan opened it's doors 340 year later (in 2001) it was skilfully renovated with help of the Amsterdam Gable-sign Fund.

Situation & Accessibility

All Amsterdam tourist sites as well as Central Station are at walking distance but you can also reach them by (almost always) direct bus/tram connections from bus/tramstop 'Marnixplein' at 250m. from our house. With your invoice you will receive: Our 'How to get there...'-file for arrivals by Public Transport, cab or car. It also includes information on parking facilities. With the confirmation you will also receive detailed information on museumticktes, combination offers etc.

In response to the many guests who mentioned that their room exceeded their expectations, we now have this little gallery of pictures. So you know better what you may expect.

There are also pictures made by our former guest available on independent review pages. You can reach those by following the review links near the bottom of this page.

Our Services

We offer a Dutch Breakfast with local breads, cheeses, meats (cold-cuts), jams, orange-juice etc. which will be served in the privacy of your room. If you prefer cereals or a vegetarian breakfast please mention this in your reservation request.

While serving breakfast I always have plenty of time to answer your questions or, on request, suggest things to do or places to eat. Also on any other hour of the day you are welcome to contact us. Our B&B rooms are on the lower levels of our family-home so also an early or very late arrival or departure is never a problem.

Our family consists of my husband Paul, our 2 young kids and me Charlotte. We usually run the B&B entirely without outside help so you always know whom to address and we know for sure that everything is as clean and complete as you may expect it to be. During our holiday our B&B is run by a responsible friend :) .

We try to offer a good balance between privacy, attention and help. We do speak several languages (English, French, German, Dutch and a little Spanish and Portuguese) and know our city well. We are looking forward to share our knowledge with you.
