Sounding Here: In-Visible, Talking to the Moon, Damaris, Bart & The C

Step into the unknown with Sounding Here—an avant-garde platform curated by Christine Cornwell, where boundaries between genres dissolve, and sound-worlds converge. Experience live performances that defy expectations and ignite the senses.
Sounding Here salutes the end of November with performances that express what it is to be alive, through movement, music, theater, and text. Together we take a breath and listen to the world from within us, and the world surrounding us. Join us for another unique evening to hear what the winter wind whispers…
In-Visible
a collaboration of four makers creating a dialogue between movement and sound. The group includes two “moving” artists—Pieke, a contemporary dancer and performer, and Lotte, a Cyr wheel artist—and two “sounding” artists—Lily on harp and electronics, and Celia on vocals, saxophone, and electronics. Together, they aim to blend their disciplines and foster a balanced exchange between sound and movement.
Celia Serrano Alarcón (vocals, saxophone, electronics) – A composer and performer from Valencia, now in the Netherlands, blending improvisation, jazz, folk, ambient, and Latin music. She leads projects like Azúmbara and Sounds of Empowerment, a course merging art and social transformation.
Lily Azur (harp, electronics) – A performer and composer with classical training who experiments with jazz, folk, and electronic sounds. Her work is informed by collaborations (Still I Rise Collective, Tututu Orchestra), exploring textures and dissonances.
Pieke Maessen (dancer, performer) – A dancer driven by layered, atmospheric experiences. He integrates human psychology with movement to create intuitive, theatrical performances, using somatic tools to enrich his movement research.
Lotte Sterringa (Cyr wheel artist) – A Dutch circus artist combining scenography with circus arts. She transforms everyday spaces into unconventional stages, using her background in scenography to incorporate architectural elements and dramatic flow into her work.
Sofie de Klerk: Talking to the Moon
“Talking to the Moon” delves into grief and remembrance, where cassette tapes—scattered like stars across the stage—hold memories and voices of those no longer here. Sofie, an accordionist and performance artist, sits among these “constellations,” embodying the moon, and responding musically to these echoes of the past. Her performance transforms each recorded voice into a poignant, musical expression of loss. This evolving project, developed in collaboration with Klavs Kelhet Hansen, explores the intersection of grief and art.
Sofie de Klerk (accordionist) is known for her meditative soundscapes and intimate connection with audiences. Influenced by Pauline Oliveros and her sound meditations, Sofie’s work blends emotional depth with immersive, contemplative sound experiences.

Damaris, Bart & The C
The city pulses with dreams, disappointments, and moments of escape, a place where everyone seems to be waiting to exhale. When we play, we leave our thoughts behind, immersing fully in the present.
Damaris (vocals) – A theatrical vocalist blending written and spontaneous poetry, Damaris lets words flow and interlace, guiding listeners on an evocative journey through her drifting, returning thoughts.
Bart Kropff (vocals, multi-instrumentalist) – A pianist, saxophonist, and sound therapist with roots in jazz and improvisation, Bart uses loops and effects to craft immersive soundscapes, inviting deep relaxation and connection.
The C (Constantin Bach) (vocals, guitar) – A freestyle guitarist and singer-songwriter who combines structured songs with freeform jams, The C connects with his audience through spoken word, storytelling, and raw, spontaneous musical expression.
