De Oostenrijkse gistarist Schirenc speelt metalklassiekers van zijn legendarische band: Pungent Stench. Ook het Nederlandse Bodyfarm en "lokale" helden Haliphron knallen deze avond hun genadeloze death metal de zaal in.
Schirenc plays PUNGENT STENCH
Schirenc is mede-oprichter, gitarist en zanger van de legendarische old school death metalband Pungent Stench, en speelt deze avond uitsluitend materiaal van de eerste drie Pungent Stench albums.
De band werd in 1988 opgericht in Wenen en staan bekend om hun grove teksten en provocerende albumhoezen. Enkele van hun bekendste albums zijn "For God Your Soul... For Me Your Flesh" (1990) en "Club Mondo Bizarre - For Members Only" (1994). Pungent Stench heeft een unieke en herkenbare stijl binnen het death metal-genre en heeft een grote invloed gehad op de underground metal scene.
BODYFARM
Bodyfarm is een Nederlandse death metalband en werd in 2009 opgericht. De band heeft inmiddels als vijf albums uitgebracht, met ‘Ultimate Abomination’ uit 2023 als meest recente wapenfeit. De bandleden hebben een sterke voorliefde voor thema’s als oorlog en geschiedenis, wat vaak wordt weerspiegeld in hun teksten en albumcovers.
HALIPHRON
Deze band stond al even op ons lijstje! Het grotendeels uit Zutphen komende Haliphron heeft nog niet in Arnhem gestaan.
Wat krijg je als je (ex-)bandleden van Izegrim, God Dethroned en Bleeding Gods bij elkaar zet en samen muziek laat maken? Blijkbaar smelt dat samen tot één van de beste symfonische deathmetalbands die Nederland rijk is. Misschien wel de allerbeste! Hun debuut album "prey" kreeg gelijk een 94/100.
DEAD MAN'S WALK
Met een stevige basis van Thrash/ Death metal, een sausje van groovende lompe riffs en Scandinavische melodieuze invloeden weet deze vijf-mans formatie een stevige sound neer te zetten. Opgericht in 2008 maar na meerdere bezettingswisselingen nu in vorm als nooit tevoren.

Schirenc is co-founder, guitarist and singer of the legendary old school death metal band Pungent Stench and this evening he will exclusively play material from the first three Pungent Stench albums.

This band has been on our list for a while! Haliphron, which largely comes from Zutphen, has not yet been in Arnhem.
