Visual Encounters - Day 3
Why do we say “I see” when we wish to express understanding? Do we understand that what we see is often an expression of someone’s perspective?

Join us for the Exhibition Nightcall, taking place from the 20th-22nd of September
Nightcall is a sound installation and performance project by Constanza Castagnet
and Megan Hadfield . By night, the artists tune into bat echolocation. Their vampiric signals and ultrasonic miscommunications have resulted into a sound piece, experimental text and a series of bat boxes installed in the 4bid gallery space.
This project is kindly supported by Amsterdam Fonds voor de Kunst, het Cultuurfonds and Fonds Kwadraat. Thank you to 4Bid Gallery, Brass Neck Press and Studio Buy My Talent for facilitating the publication, exhibition and visual identity.
Program:
Friday 20th: open from 5-9pm
Film screening - I like bats - 7 pm
Saturday 21st: open 1-9pm
Performance- Feeding Buzz- 7pm
Constanza Castagnet
Feeding Buzz is a performance inspired by bat behaviors and myths. It fuses realistic and scientific information with cinematic and fictional elements to explore the dimensions of sound, perception, and fear. Through imaginary landscapes of inaudible frequencies and lullabies of nightmares, we encounter shimmers of darkness, nocturnal wanderings and eerie tales.
