Videotheek de Herinnering is an ode to the videotheque experience as we know it: walking past the collection cabinets in a slow stride, searching for that unexpected gem that would later end up in your vcr. Never could you consult IMDb on the spot, because there were no smartphones yet. You really had to rely on the physical object; the title, the cover art and the promotional text on the back. Meanwhile, this experience is a thing of the past; there is no longer a single video store in the Netherlands.
Time to revolt! Videotheek de Herinnering provides you with a nostalgic experience, during which videothecarian Hilde will present you with a wonderful selection of VHS tapes. However, like a true videotheque visitor, the final choice is yours. Will it be a trashy Stephen King film adaptation? Or do you prefer an obtrusive pastiche of genre tributes? The choice is yours!
