Pedro the Lion is een Amerikaanse indierockband uit Seattle, opgericht door David Bazan in 1995. Bazan is het creatieve brein achter de band en wordt live en in de studio ondersteund door een wisselende groep muzikanten. Tussen 1997 en 2004 bracht Pedro the Lion vijf albums en vijf EP’s uit. De band staat bekend om hun persoonlijke teksten met politieke en religieuze thema’s. Na een stilte van vijftien jaar maakte Pedro the Lion in 2019 een indrukwekkende comeback en bracht sindsdien drie albums uit. Hun meest recente werk, ‘Santa Cruz’, verscheen in juni 2024.
